In 1972 ambitious winemaker Francis Durousseau purchased Château Cusseau with his wife. It is currently run by their son Thierry.

Located in Labarde, the southernmost village of Margaux, the Château Cusseau estate spans 9.5 hectares of vine. Noble varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are planted on well-draining gravel soils.

The vineyards are all worked by hand, utilizing green harvesting to limit yields and promote character. Thierry Durousseau considers himself both a vintner and a farmer, approaching his vines with the same level of care he does his animals.
