Farella ‘Alta’ 2016

James Suckling: 93 pts

A soft, fruity red with lots of plum, berry and chocolate character. Not overdone. Full and round texture. Lots of fruit at the end. 63% cabernet sauvignon, 32% merlot and 5% malbec. Lovely to drink now..

Wine Advocate: 95 pts

The 2016 Red Blend Alta is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 2% Malbec. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it sings of crushed black cherries, warm mulberries, baked plums and cassis with hints of candied violets, spice cake and bay leaves with a waft of wilted roses. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers softly textured, juicy black fruit layers and plenty of fragrant sparks, finishing long and beautifully poised.
