Farella Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Wine Advocate: 91 pts

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep purple-black and scented of warm black berries and black currants with hints of espresso, tree bark, cumin seed and fenugreek plus Provence herbs and tar. Medium to full-bodied, it is muscular with firm, chewy tannins, lovely freshness and good length.

James Suckling: 93 pts

Aromas of blackberry and blueberry follow through to a full body, firm and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Very pretty. Tangy undertone. From one of the top grape growers of the region. Drink or hold.

Vinous: 92 pts

Black cherry, gravel, bittersweet chocolate, dark spice and copious sweet French oak are all found in Farella's 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon. This is an especially dark and unctuous yet forbidding wine from a producer that in the past has sought more finesse in his wines. Even so, there is plenty to like in this packed Napa Valley Cabernet.
