Grifalco Aglianico del Vulture 'Damaschito' 2013

Wine Advocate: 92pts

Here's an austere and muscular red wine from the blackened slopes of the Vulture volcano in the deep south of Italy. The 2013 Aglianico del Vulture Damaschito shows darkened lines with black currant, dried plum, spice, tar and campfire ash. The tannins grip firmly over the palate, and the wine shows the freshness and power to keep its momentum going strong.

James Suckling: 90 pts

Lots of berry, cherry and raspberry aromas follow through to a full body, round and juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink now.
