Podere Sapaio Sapaio 2015

James Suckling: 96pts

So much fresh pressed violet and blackberry character as well as iodine, quartz, slate and tile. Full body, grippy yet linear and polished tannins, fine acidity and a long, minerally finish. So refined. Drink in 2020.

Wine Advocate: 93 pts

Much of the fruit used here comes from vineyards in Bibbona (not Bolgheri). The 2015 Sapaio is a little understated compared to the 2016 edition of this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. This expression offers dark fruit and rich texture. The approach offered here shows lots of density paired with slightly more measured depth.
