Soutiran Grand Cru Brut NV

Vinous: 91 pts

(60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay; L12050): Light, bright gold. Yeasty, mineral-tinged aromas of fresh apple, strawberry and blood orange, with a smoky nuance gaining strength in the glass. Fleshy and expansive on the palate, offering ripe orchard fruit flavors and a hint of bracing citrus pith. Closes smooth and long, with a touch of toasted nuts and strong mineral bite. I like the interplay of richness and vivacity here.

Wine Advocate: 91 pts

Wafting from the glass with aromas of minty red apples, dried flowers and peaches, Soutiran's NV Brut Grand Cru Signature is medium to full-bodied, sapid and vinous, with a delicate pinpoint mousse, good concentration, crisp acids and a chalky, saline finish. This Champagne would work very well at table. It's a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir based on the 2011 vintage with 43% reserve wines and was disgorged in October 2017 with six grams per liter dosage.

Wine Enthusiast: 90 pts

Soutiran regards this as its hallmark wine—its signature. It reveals the producer's preference for drier styles of Champagne, bringing out crisp fruitiness. It is packed with apple and orange zest flavors that are young although ready to drink.

James Suckling: 90 pts

Lots of apple and lemon aromas and flavors here. Medium to full body. Tangy acidity. A little simple, but squeaky clean. Drink now.
