Gérard Tremblay Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir 2012

Wine Advocate: 90pts

The 2012 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir is courtesy of 0.60 hectares of 35-year-old vines, 30% of the crop raised in barrel and the rest in stainless steel for 11 months. It has a crisp, mineral-driven bouquet with wet limestone and flinty notes developing in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with crisp acidity, plenty of citrus fruit and very good tension on the somehow understated finish that will benefit from another year in bottle. Very fine. Drink 2015-2024.

Wine Spectator: 93pts

Plush for the vintage, revealing peach, melon, honey and citrus flavors. Fresh and lively, with a long, crisp finish. The oak is very discreet. Drink now through 2022. 900 cases made.

Vinous: 92+pts

Pale bright yellow. Reduced nutty nose. Concentrated and densely packed, showing more weight and grip than the 2013 bottling. Flavors of lemon and white flowers are given shape and cut by strong acidity and stony minerality. This penetrating wine finishes chewy and dense--and more youthfully austere than the 2013. Excellent potential.
